She may be seen listening to her favorite song Heartless by Morgan Wallen or eating her favorite weird food combination of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and peas. One of the many new teachers at the high school this year Ms. Ashley Womack began her teaching career and she is so excited to be here.

Womack commented, “It’s always a great day to be a Viking because the students and staff here are always so great.”

Students may have seen Ms. Womack around the building before. Prior to becoming a teacher she student taught with Mrs. Sittenauer.

“After student teaching here, I knew I loved the school and when a history job opened up I knew it would be a perfect fit for me,” said Womack.

She earned her Associates degree at Allen County Community College and finished her degree at Emporia State University. Her love for history came from a teacher she had in high school.

“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I had a great teacher in high school who loved history and made me love learning about history too,” added Womack.

In high school Womack was also involved in volleyball, basketball and softball.

Womack wants people to know that, “My high school experience in athletics makes it easy to relate to my students, which I think is very helpful.”
