Ms. Albright assists a student with her work. Albright is adjusting well the the change in schools.

Along with the new class of freshmen, there are also new teachers and administrators throughout the school this year, including Ms. Albright.

Ms. Albright is originally from Topeka and graduated from Hayden High School. Following this she earned her degree and K-State.

“I’m from Topeka so I went to Hayden, graduated from there, and then I spent a little bit of time at Washburn and then transferred to K-State and finished there,” said Albright.

She came to USD 345 because she wanted a change of pace from private school. Before she came back home, she taught at Holy Family Catholic School for six years. Then she moved to Seaman Middle School, teaching there for the last couple of years.

“I started out in private school and wanted a change of pace and to see what public education was about, I felt this district fit me the best,” Albright said.

Since she’s from Topeka, she really enjoys having family close.

“It feels like home and all of my family and friends are here,” Ms. Albright says.

She hopes to someday be either a volleyball or softball assistant coach if a position opens up. Currently though, she is getting her master’s degree which leaves little time to sponsor or coach.

Albright said, “I played volleyball and softball in high school, so I would like to be an assistant coach at some point.”

Along with a love of sports, Albright also loves to cook and read. When she goes out to Sonic instead of cooking, she gets a strawberry lemonade from Sonic.

Make sure to help welcome Ms. Albright to the SHS!
