Mr. Swafford plays baseball with his class. Swafford will teach Team Sports this year.

As we begin the new school year, students and staff  have had the privilege of getting to know some new staff members here at Seaman High. One staff member students are excited to get to know is the new head football coach and PE teacher, Jared Swafford.

Swafford is a former Perry-Lecompton football, track, and basketball coach. He received his degree from Emporia State University where he played football, and after graduation he earned his teaching license at Fort Hays University. He is excited to join the staff at SHS.

I have always heard great things about this district. After going through the interview process and walking around the school it felt like home.”

After a winning season for the Vikes last year, Coach Swafford has big plans for the football team this season.

“The expectation is set high and we look forward to a great season. One day at a time, one game at a time.”

Outside of school, Swafford likes to play golf and spending time in the great outdoors. His go-to Sonic drink is a Cherry Limeade.

If you see Coach Swafford in the halls, wish him luck in the upcoming season!
