Former Seaman teacher Jeff Pierce faces charges of child porn production and possession

Former Seaman High School White Team social studies teacher and JV basketball coach, Jeff Pierce was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 2 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for charges of alleged child pornography production and possession.

A message sent out by Superintendent Dr. Steve Noble informed Seaman District parents of the arrest, stating: “We were made aware of this arrest at around 10:30 am on Wednesday morning.”

Upon finding out about the arrest and investigation, the district immediately began working with the FBI to assist in the case.

“We are cooperating and working closely with the FBI to provide our complete support in every way possible. Our first concern right now is for the well-being of victims who were impacted by this case and this news,” said Dr. Noble.

The Seaman School District Board of Education held a meeting to discuss Pierce’s termination at noon on Friday September 4. The board voted 7-0 on terminating Jeffery Pierce’s employment at Seaman High School.

The FBI is asking any person with knowledge of potential crimes relating to these accusations to report the contact. The FBI advises to “check social media accounts associated with the screen names listed in the latest release. If you have reason to believe you or your child may be a victim, please email [email protected].”

Despite the news, Principal of Seaman High School Mike Monaghan reminded the district of their strength as a community.

“We have a really great school here with a wonderful rich traditional experience like many students are getting with extra curricular involvement as well as the academic foundation and preparedness. This is exactly the experience that we want for our kids, as parents, to have, and Seaman offers that. So we cannot let this terrible thing overshadow that. It is a punch in the gut, but we can’t let that disrupt the great things that are going on here,” said Monaghan.

USD 345 wants to remind students and families that all counselors as well as staff members are available for anyone who would like to talk or set up a counseling session.

“Please let us know if you need anything. Our counselors, social workers and administrative teams are always available to counsel with you,” said Monaghan.
