Thunderstorms possible this evening

Parade and crowning should be dry

Heat indices in the 80s with a slight chance of storms

Happy Homecoming, Vikes! Unfortunately, summer-like heat returns today with highs around 90s and heat indices approaching 95 during the afternoon.

A frontal boundary will spark off scattered showers and thunderstorms later today, but likely not until after 6:00 PM. This means the parade and crowning will be dry but very warm.

Storm coverage is expected to increase through the evening hours, so the football game may be impacted by rain at times.

Some storms could be severe with large hail the main hazard. After midnight, the primary threat should transition to heavy rainfall.

Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected tomorrow and early Sunday with locally heavy rainfall possible and a slight risk of severe weather.

Enjoy Homecoming!
