During the first semester, there was a district-wide election to implement a new member to USD 345 school board. Mr. Keith Griffin was elected. He and his wife have both graduated from Seaman, along with his daughter, Mikayla, and a son who is currently a sixth grader. Griffin will be able to bring some interesting new attributes to the board, working full-time as a Manager in Design and Construction, employed at Stormont Vail Health. He also has construction and design experience within the district too, as he was named the project superintendent on the new Seaman Middle School. “Not only do I have experience in building and maintaining facilities, but I also have experience in problem solving,” says Griffin.

This experience in problem solving will come in handy as he will be helping to make critical decisions about curriculum, district budgets, taxes, and district facilities. For the time being, Mr. Griffin looks to support his fellow board members, while he gets the hang of things.

It is my contention that I began this role of a school board member to support my fellow board members, parents, students, teachers, and administration alike, and also to provide avenues for our young students to soar into excellence and prepare for life after high school.

— Mr. Keith Griffin

As a new member, Griffin does not intend to start making any significant changes to the district policy. He is very proud of Seaman, and believes that our “great teachers, top-notch facilities, and a very supporting community”, provides for a thriving school district.
