Students participate in national walkout
Several Seaman students met at the flagpole for National Walkout Day
To remember the 17 students and staff lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, some Seaman students gathered around the flagpole for 17 minutes of silence. Students had the option to discuss school safety in class or to go to a supervised area for 17 minutes of silence.
“I walked out because kids shouldn’t have to be afraid about dying at school, and if we need to leave school to prove that to people then we need to be the generation to prove that.”

“I walked out because gun violence needs to stop and we need to be the generation that changes things.”
