The Nov. 18 opening of Viking Sports Bar and Grill brings another sit-down restaurant to north Topeka.  Named to resonate with the Seaman community, it opens in the location previously known as Reeds.  

Damon Reed, the former owner of Reed’s, revamped the place.

The Viking Grill is completely new with a remodeled interior.

“The decision to change it from Reed’s to Vikings was a family issue and the place needed a whole makeover,” said Reed.

Reed hopes that his restaurant can become a friendly place people can come to get great service and have a wonderful time.

The opening did bring him a bit of anxiety. It made for a busy first couple of weeks and Reed hopes that people continue to come back despite any issues such as slow service that they may have experienced.

The staff has many new members and it might take time for workers to get acclimated to all of the changes.

This whole process has been stressful and extremely busy for Reed. He is excited to finally get things rolling after a “hard month and a half of work and spending money.”

Viking Sports Bar and Grill is located on 4731 NW Hunters Ridge Circle.
